Cheney is the U.S. representative for Wyoming’s at-large district. Cheney was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs in the G.W. Bush administration and from 2019-2021 the Chair of the House Republican Conference until she was removed earlier this year in a closed door vote. Her support of the second impeachment of Donald Trump for his role in the insurrection on the capital on Jan. 6, 2021 prompted the Republican leadership to oust her. Cheney is a neoconservative with a supreme reverence for the rule of law, which she believes is a key to making our democracy work. As a conservative, she has focuse on national security, business, the military, and foreign policy.
