After Princeton undergrad and Harvard Law, Michelle moved back to her hometown of Chicago. She worked for the law firm Sidley Austin where she met her husband Barack Obama. Michelle worked for several nonprofits, then moved on to the University of Chicago Medical Center as a VP for Community and External Affairs. While first lady, Obama advocated for a healthy lifestyle. She planted a large kitchen garden at the White House and started the Let’s Move campaign to get America’s youth exercising and fit. Michelle supports human rights. Obama focused on LGBTQ rights; she put her support to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 Pay Equity Law, and the economic stimulus bills of 2010 while first lady. Michelle wrote a popular autobiography and continues her advocacy of human rights with media and film.
