Clinton served as US Secretary of State 2009-2013 under President Obama. She was the first female senator from New York (2001-2009), and First Lady of the United States between 1993 and 2001. After Wellesley College for undergrad and then Yale Law, Hillary married Bill Clinton and moved to Arkansas. In 1977, she co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families and joined the Rose Law Firm becoming the first female partner. When Clinton became First Lady, she advocated vociferously for health care reform. As a NY Senator, Clinton continued to advocate for health care and handily won reelection to that post. As the US Secretary of State, Clinton helped organize the curtailing of the Iran nuclear program. However she was criticised for an inadequate response to the Benghazi attack. Clinton ran for US President in 2016, won the popular vote, but lost the Electoral College to President Trump. Clinton has written a number of books and is currently fulfilling speaking engagements. She is the Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast.
